The Idaho Statesman published a short article about the proposed Firenze Plaza and our efforts to make Tuscany safer for our children. The article can be found here. The reporter, Sven Berg, was extremely impressed by the efforts and the organization of our residents. His personal comments were to the effect that it's extremely hard to ever stop a project like this, but the better organized the group is, the more influence they have on shaping the end result. He wished us luck in our efforts and asked to be kept informed if we had any further developments that we felt were newsworthy.
Thank you to all of the volunteers and to all of the residents for your efforts and willingness to be involved. Please continue to be involved, especially by showing up to the Public Hearings on the 14th and 15th and taking your 3 minutes to express your opinions to the Commissioners. We have already been heard in this process as the proposed change in the preliminary plat indicate. We want to continue to be heard, in order to further improve the end result for our community and for the safety of our children.

My husband and I oppose the proposed new development. It feels like we are being railroaded into a commercial development that will cause undue hardship for the Tuscany neighborhood. We all bought property with the understanding that the entire area was zoned for a low density residential neighborhood. Increased traffic would not be safe.

Hopefully this website and blog will help to improve communication among the residents of Tuscany concerning the proposed Firenze Plaza and the efforts being made by many of us to modify that proposal. Categories
